Documenting Milestones and Learning

This blog is really meant (for now) as a personal way to discover photography growth. I aim to compile videos, websites, and resources that I have found helpful as I work to develop more skills.

At the time of this writing I have a Nikon D300s. I have a few lenses that I will list out at a later point.

For many years I have enjoyed taking pictures but I always try to correct people when they say I enjoy photography. "Photography" as a term has always meant more technical aspects of the hobby. It means you know your camera and how to manipulate an image. To me, photography never meant pointing and shooting in automatic. Yes, I enjoy composition and minor, basic editing.

Today though, I am ready to begin my foray into photography itself. There will be some hurdles along the way I'm sure. For the first time ever though I feel like I'm having a mental breakthrough with aperture, ISO, and shutter speed. This moment of clarity is giving me the push I need to really get started.

I'm hoping that this blog will provide a way for me to come back and review when I feel bogged down by working full time and being a mom.
